All Levels of Reiki Training

The first part of each class will be held online in the comfort of your home. You will view a powerpoint, get time to practice, ask questions, and learn all the mechanics of Reiki Healing to heal yourself and others. You will also receive access to videos to continue the training until attunement.

The second part of the class is a special attunement ceremony, held in studio or outside, weather permitting. You will be given a chance to experience healing through sound, meditation, reiki and light during this attunement.

Commonly Asked Questions:

Who can learn to do Reiki?

Everyone! Reiki is a very simple technique to learn and is not dependent on one having any prior experience with healing, meditation or any other kind of training. Millions of people from all walks of life, both young and old, have learned to heal themselves and others through this amazing method. Imagine has created a training program that is simple, concise and easy to access. We are happy to provide continuing education throughout the process and beyond.

What does it feel like when giving a Reiki treatment?

When giving a Reiki treatment, the Reiki energy flows through the practitioner before leaving the hands and flowing into the client. Because of this, the practitioner receives a treatment also. As the Reiki energy flows through the practitioner, she or he will feel more relaxed and uplifted. Spiritual experiences sometimes take place. The practitioner sometimes receives insights about what the client needs to know to heal more deeply, but the goal is for both the healer and client to relax and hold space for the healing to happen.

How long does it take to learn Reiki?

Reiki class begins with a 2 hour virtual training. You will receive follow up videos to practice the skills and get comfortable with the energy. After that, you will come to the studio for a special ceremony known as Attunement.  Along with the attunement, the student is also given time to ask questions, share insights and often practice giving treatments in class. The student is taught techniques to ground and center themselves, and learns to protect against unwanted negative energy.

What is the difference between Usui & Karuna Reiki®?

Usui Reiki was developed in Japan in the early 1900's by Dr. Mikao Usui.  Seeking a way to share the spiritually guided life energy, Dr. Usui developed this technique designed to promote healing through "the laying on of hands."

Building on Dr. Usui's foundation, William Rand, founder of the International Center for Reiki Training, developed Karuna Reiki® with the help of a group of Reiki Masters channeling healing energy through experimentation and prayer. Karuna is the Sanskrit term for compassionate action.  Karuna Reiki® Healers, once attuned, can tap into this unbounded sea of love, bringing healing and relaxation to those who seek it.

What is a Reiki attunement?

Reiki attunement is the process by which a person receives the ability to give Reiki treatments. Usui Reiki has been passed on from Teacher to Student for many, many years. The Reiki Teacher acts as a channel for the Reiki energy to pass to the student. During the this sacred ceremony, the Reiki Master will touch the students head, shoulders, and hands and use one or more special breathing techniques. During the attunement, some students feel warmth in the hands, others may see colors or have visions of spiritual beings. However, it is not necessary to have an inner experience for the attunement to have worked. Most simply feel more relaxed or peaceful. Most importantly, students become Reiki Healers after their first attunement.

How many levels of training are there?

In the Usui/Tibetan system of Reiki taught by the Center, there are four levels. These include I, II,  Advanced (A.R.T.) and Master/Teacher. They are also known as Degrees. In Level I, you will learn the hand positions, the Gassho & Kanji symbols to call the energy, how to open the chakras, and you will receive the Attunement enabling the Reiki energy to flow within you.  Level I Certification includes a manual and lots of practice time.  You will give and receive Reiki during this session. In

Level II, you will become attuned to 3 sacred symbols passed down from Dr. Usui.  You will learn to draw them and discover what they are used for.  You will also learn how to perform Distant Healing, Self Care and much more.  Level II Certification allows the energy to establish quicker and easier, most healers become much more comfortable with Reiki after this level.  You may take Level II when you feel ready, there are no set rules to how long you should wait between Level I & II.

In Level III, you become attuned to the Master symbol, increasing your energy and vibration to a higher level.  Advanced Reiki Training teaches you how to work with crystals, how to create a healing grid, and begins preparation to become a Master Teacher, if desired.  A.R.T. is only available after Level I & II, and based on readiness. You should feel comfortable with the energy and willing to explore a higher level of awareness before taking this next step.

Can I treat myself?

Yes, once you have received the attunement, you can treat yourself as well as others. This is one of the unique features of Reiki. The one most healed and changed by Reiki energy can often be the Healer; however, it can still be beneficial to receive treatments from other healers to keep your energy at the maximum.  Nothing beats a full Reiki treatment for relaxation.

Can I treat animals or plants?

Animals love Reiki too. They seem to have a natural understanding of what Reiki is and its benefits. Once a pet has received a Reiki treatment, they will often let you know that they want more. Plants also respond well to Reiki.

How long do I have to wait before taking the next level?

There are not set times, it depends upon the amount of practice you have and whether you feel ready to move on. Generally, I recommend 1-3 months between Level 1 & 2, 6-12 months between 2 & 3. The Teacher training is by invitation only, if you have expressed a desire to teach Reiki to others and have practiced Level 3 for at least a year.

You must complete Usui Advanced Reiki Training before you can be certified as Karuna® 1 & 2.  Usui/Tibetan Master Training must be competed before Karuna Master®.

Can children do Reiki too?

Is your child naturally compassionate and intuitive? Help your child get in touch with the subtle energy of Reiki, supporting their spiritual development in this fun, interactive workshop.  Children are very close to the flow of life and have a natural awareness of healing energy. In this workshop, children will be attuned to Reiki Level I, will explore energy fields and learn how to use Reiki with plants, animals and people. Designed for children ages 5-14.

Can you be attuned more than once?

Absolutely, if you feel like you'd like to refresh yourself and receive an extra healer dose of Reiki you can be attuned as many times as you'd like.  Reiki is a lot to take in all at once.  Linda offers re-attunement classes at half price to those originally trained by her.

You may also receive a Healing attunement any time you feel that your energy is low due to stress, illness or crisis. You do not have to be a Healer to receive a Reiki attunement, this can be added as part of your private Reiki session. Ask Linda for details.
